Have you seen the photoshopped Ralph Lauren advertisement? The photo gained countless hits and criticisms and reactions from bloggers and net users all over the world. The model is -year-old Filippa Hamilton. She is 5′10″ and weighs 120 pound and has worked for the company since she was 15 but was fired six months ago because the company said she has couldn’t meet the obligations under her contract with them. On the other hand, Filippa said she was fired because she got too fat and she couldn’t fit their clothes and cannot go on a fashion show anymore. The photo according to Ralph Lauren himself was mistakenly released and used in a department store in Japan and was not the approved image which ran in the U.S. They also say that the photoshopping was an error and say that Filippa’s size is just healthy and normal. The issue is still going on and speculations are still building, as for me, photoshopping is not really good and it’s high time advertisers stop using them.
